This baseball season Max Scherzer will make $72 million dollars from 4 separate teams. 50+ games into the season he has pitched 3 innings. The temptation is to say if I made money like that....fill in the blank. As Gibbs reflected on Memorial Day and the sacrifices made, he was aware of his own discontentment despite being surrounded by so much surplus. Isn't it amazing how we can be in situations we want to be in, surrounded by people we want to be surrounded by and still feel a gnawing longing for more...God help us to be content and to desire Godliness and generosity.
