Today on the show Gibbs talks with team Lancaster Thunder about three simple words. LETS GO KNICKS! LETS GO KNICKS! Last night the New York "Villanova" Knicks took Gibbs on a journey deep into his sports memory bank to 1999. Not since Gibbs was 12 years old has a Knicks season come together quite like this one. What would need to happen in sports to reduce you to a 12 year old kid sports fan once again? Watching the Knicks hoist the Eastern Conference Trophy a verse from Romans 12 popped into Gibbs mind. He shares some thoughts around anchoring hope to realities that are not volatile and praying for patience in long growth processes. Finally, Gibbs talks about Jacob Misiorowski throwing inflation level gas over the weekend and gives an Isaac Robinson disc golf update. Go make plays! We are "NOT JUST FANS"!

Today on the show Gibbs talks with team Lancaster Thunder about the power of being singularly focused. Excellent sports moments are all around us in summer championship season. Mitch Marner scored a ridiculous playoff goal last week, Rai wins the PGA Championship, a heavy weight match up in the Western Conference Finals, Game 7 in a Stanley cup playoff all providing excellent viewing for the sports fan. The playoff atmosphere in Buffalo and Montreal has been LIT! In order for a person to reach the lofty heights of professional sports it requires a singular dedication and focus to their craft to get a shot at that success. Often once success is achieved it is easy for people to drift from the habits that laid the foundation for success. As followers of Jesus we cannot drift from the good news of Jesus. Jesus came preaching a message of repentance from sin. We cannot share a different message than one Jesus shared and call it good news. Let us not lose our singular focus on how a person can be at peace with the Triune God. Matthew 6:33 tells us to seek first the kingdom and righteousness, God help us to obey.  Go make plays! Remember we are "NOT JUST FANS"!

DR. ICE & DR. ACE

Friday May 08, 2026

Friday May 08, 2026

Today on the show Gibbs talks with team Lancaster Thunder about how the world of sports is rapidly transforming in multiple ways. Everything is measured and analyzed. Golden Tempo is not pursuing the Triple Crown because of his level of effort at the Kentucky Derby. Duke is pursuing its own licensing with Amazon. As soon as young person suffers an injury we quickly take them for X-rays with the next game in mind. Speed, efficiency, and analysis happen quickly and naturally every day. Are we losing the wonder of life as we pursue efficiency and speed? Does Golden Tempo want to pursue the Triple Crown? Have we forgotten that for most kids their favorite part of youth sports is half time oranges and post game ice cream? Never underestimate the healing properties of a hug from mom, and encouragement by name, Ice, Ace braces, and some rest. May we never lose the wonder of Jesus Christ and his power to save, heal, and make well. Happy Mother's Day! Go Make Plays! We are "NOT JUST FANS"! Recover Wonder!
