Today on the show Gibbs talks about how one of the most important elements of succeeding in accomplishing your goals is the ability to say NO! He talks about a story he heard Paul George forward for the Clippers telling about Kobe Bryant who bailed him out of a big bill that George was going to have to pay. Paul George was unwilling to say NO! There are many areas and opportunities in life to say NO! It can be really hard. Pray and ask for help. The New York Rangers are undefeated in the playoffs so far this year, last night just a little redirection of the puck resulted in a game winner. Perhaps a little redirection in your willingness to say NO, could produce a game winner! We are "NOT JUST FANS"! Go make plays!

Today on the show Gibbs discusses rivalry! The current Knicks vs Pacers series is drudging up some old memories of Reggie Miller dominating the Knicks in the 90s and early 2000s. Rivalries build tension in the arena and pull emotion out of the fans. Gibbs touches on some famous rivalries and encourages Team Lancaster Thunder to remember that whether they realize it or not they are in the midst of a cosmic rivalry. People who follow Jesus are constantly being hunted by a nemesis who is looking to devour. We are "Not Just Fans"! If you are human you are in the game! Today on the show Gibbs discusses the power of words! Words can be a great blessing or a curse, the Bible has very strong things to communicate about the power of the tongue. Sports can demonstrate the truths of these ideas in a very powerful way. You hear the crowds chanting. Let's be classier Madison Square Garden. You hear the post-game press conferences. We see litigation between the NCAA and student athletes, we see marketing, and messages on apparel! Words matter! Today on the show Gibbs talks about playoff basketball, the NFL draft, and playoff hockey. He discusses how an underrated ingredient of winning cultures in sports is patience. He encourages to consider Romans 12:12 as you go through your day, no matter what you are facing. Joy, patience, and prayer are winning ingredients you can take with you into any situation! What Position Are You Playing?

Today on the show Gibbs talks about the importance of knowing what positions we are playing as we go through life. Each of us is playing multiple positions in various roles in life, sometimes it can be difficult to remember what role we are playing at what time. Sometimes we are Quarterback, sometimes we are not! Players on successful teams have clear view of what position they are playing and what is required of that position. We talk Quarterbacks, give a tribute to Howie Schwab, and talk about some amazing high school baseball statistics. Finally, we think about how important it is to keep in view our role as followers of Jesus Christ!

Building Championship Teams

Today on the show Gibbs is discussing team building! He gives an idea about one of the cornerstones of team building (Culture) and one of the fatal flaws that many make in team building (Assuming the best player is the leader). He discusses how quality teams desire accountability and are made up of excellent combinations of a variety of skill sets, personalities, and abilities.
