Today on the show Gibbs talks with team Lancaster Thunder about abundance. Last night watching playoff baseball on TV and football on the phone at the same time reminded me of the ridiculous amount of abundance available in the world. As you look at all the options and ways you can watch sports this weekend, remember the amazing grace of the options we have in our lives! Even more, remember that Jesus came to give life in abundance as we are reminded in John 10:10. The Lord is focused on abundance in the inner person and the outer person! LESSONS FROM AN EMPTY SQUARE

Today on the show Gibbs talks with Team Lancaster Thunder about the final lesson he learned from his experience at Penn State recently. Many years ago there used to be a famous statue of former coach Joe Paterno on the Penn State campus. That statue was removed after a long court case and in many ways despite 409 career victories Joe Paterno's name is barely whispered at Penn State or in college football at large. I looked at the empty square where the statue once stood and thought about how powerful inaction can be. We often think about doing the right or wrong thing, but what about when we know what we should do and don't do the right thing? Inaction is also an action. We look at the parable of the good Samaritan, which gives us powerful examples of both action and inaction, appropriate response in circumstances where a difference can be made, and inappropriate response where a difference can be made. NHL hockey starts tonight! We are in the thick of the sports buffet! Enjoy the October sports fest, but not so much we don't take action where the Lord has given us opportunity to make a difference. TRAINING FOR HELPFULNESS

Today on the show Gibbs talks with Team Lancaster Thunder about training for helpfulness. Have you ever viewed the act of helping others something that you needed to train for? Jesus was amazing at being helpful to others. He desires his followers to become great at being helpful to others as well. We look at the example of Moses Malone and Charles Barkley to learn what it looks like to be helpful. We hear a tremendous perspective from former NFL player Andrew Whitworth on Bryce Young being benched with the Carolina Panthers. A great ending to the baseball season is upon us. God has made this world to be taken dominion over by humans and over the course of history there have been many amazing things that have gone on! His mammoth stat line made baseball fans applaud in awe. He continues to add to his reputation as the most unique baseball player to ever step on the dirt of a baseball field. The reality is that every human is 1 of 1. Your thumbprint is different than every other person in the world. There are people you were made to impact that Mr. Ohtani never will. It is one thing to know the gameplan, it is a whole different thing to execute the gameplan! We talk about how teams that succeed both know the gameplan and execute it! Jesus calls us to both know the truth and to walk in the truth! There is a lot of knowledge about how championships are won in sports, but executing on that knowledge is challenging. Last night the world watched the Miami Dolphins Quarterback suffer an injury that puts his career under the microscope, baseball season is in its final stretch and every day is a new day in the race for a pennant! Deals are signed and people are excited, and then within a few months those very same situations are viewed as busts and disasters! Life changes fast. We can be tempted to despair but take heart the contributions you are making for God's glory and to build society matter and you never know what your efforts might be scheduled to produce in the hands and will of a sovereign God.
