Gibbs talks about the gratitude on the face of Khaman Maluach when he was drafted at #10 by the Phoenix Suns. Gibbs talks about how now we see who was a better model on the runway than basketball player on the hardwood floor. Time to go to work. Time to separate the show horses from the work horses. The Florida Panthers put on a hockey clinic last night in South Florida. Producing a lopsided 6-1 victory. They looked like the real thing. In Oakland, Denzel Clarke helped provide definition for baseball fans of what an "Athletic" play looks like with an astounding robbery of a baseball destined for the seats. A "Web Gem" as they used to say. Tip of the hat to Peter Gammons. Gibbs talks with Team Lancaster Thunder about some of the impact of the new NIL settlement. People pay $13,000 (2025 price) to be part of the camp for 4 days and many Duke basketball players come back to be part of the experience. It is a celebration of Duke culture and accomplishments. When you observe the tradition and accolades of the program it can be alluring to yearn for that kind of fraternity. There can be temptation to condemnation and despair if you feel you have not been as successful as you hoped and you feel alone.
